Spring Break Trip to Disney
By: Aurelian Greeno - April 15, 2016
This year over spring break, the NBHS band took their triennial trip to Disney World in Orlando. The band is invited by Disney to march in their parade and perform. The band has been taking Disney trips for quite a while now, and the students love getting the chance to perform in front of many people experiencing going to Disney World.
“My favorite part was being able to march in front of thousands of people and getting to see all of the Star Wars stuff in the park. I’ve only been to Disney once with the band, but I’ve been there six times on my own,” said Tanner Gray-Duvall, junior band member.
“I really liked being able to bond with people in band that I’m usually not close to. I also really liked EPcot and seeing all the different cultures and trying their foods, and the workshop we did was a lot of fun. It was amazing to see how much our band improved after a couple of hours. I’ve gone four times,” said Jordan Bucher, freshman.
The band had a lot of fun while in Disney, and upcoming band members are excited to be able to go in three years.

NBHS Band Update
By: Joshua Rockhill - September 14, 2015
Over the past few weeks North Baltimore’s high school band has been performing at the halftime shows during the Friday nights football games. They have been playing “Anything For Love, Centerfold, and Uptown Funk”. In the middle of “Uptown Funk” they performed a dance. The band has spent over 24 hours working on their first show. What really makes our band stand out from the other bands is that they memorize their music. Mr. Pack loves it when the band members can stand out but not to where you're the only one to hear with no music. He is always telling them what they could do better like their horn angles and right notes. The band is now working on their new show and will be playing new music soon.
We asked some band members about their first show. Seth Thompson and Noah Pelton said they enjoyed playing all three songs and are excited to play them again this week. What Noah thought about the dance was “it was amazing because he didn't have to do it.” Seth likes having Mr. Pack as a teacher, but he feels like he is being “Punn”-ished. They both loved it, but something they would like to change is how people got into the music. Noah’s favorite song was “Uptown Funk,” because it was fun to play, but Seth had a different opinion; he liked to playing “Centerfold”. The last question they got asked was their favorite Pack joke and Noah said The pink house joke and Seth said there is no such thing. The band would love for you to come out and watch them on friday nights during halftime.
