Baseball Starts Soon!
By: Eli Smith - March 11, 2016
With winter coming to an end, spring sports kicked off this past week. The baseball team has been practicing hard for the upcoming season. Last year the Tigers did really well, and they plan to build off that great start and keep the ball rolling this season.
“I am really looking forward to having a fun, successful season playing with a great team,” said Tyler Schwartz, freshman.
A few of the seniors had a lot to say about their last year in baseball and overall, their last high school sport. “It’s really upsetting that it is my last high school sport but I am still excited to do great things this season,” Said Brody Naugle, senior.
The first game is on March 26th, a double header against Rossford. The team has a few scrimmages before then to get ready for the big season.
Come support the Tigers’ baseball team and cheer them on to a great season!

Punxsutawney Phil’s big day has come and gone, and spring is quickly approaching. This means one thing: baseball! It’s that wonderful time of year where baseballs begin to peak out. The sound of leather snapping as a fastball is caught, the crack of a bat as a pitch is hit, the sound of cleats on concrete: baseball! Baseball season is quickly beginning and the North Baltimore Tigers are ready to tackle yet another season. The Tigers are optimistic about the upcoming season, given that some of their best players are at their peek. Seniors Andrew Hollinger, Brody Naugle, and Sean Watson are looking forward to a successful year. Senior, Brody Naugle, energetically said that “I am really looking forward to this season. It’s going to be fun and sad at the same time. I feel very prepared for this season and am excited, but I am sad as well because it is my final season.”
The team is projected to do well this season, given their player’s skill set as well as a quality coaching staff. The team had a winning season last year and are hoping to repeat the past this season. Senior, Brody Naugle, was optimistic in saying that “I think the team will do great! We have tons of skill and great coaches. We should have no problem winning the BVC.” The North Baltimore coaching staff also said they’re looking forward to this season, saying they too feel the team can do great things this season if they put the work in. The team has begun open gyms and practices will soon be starting. It’s time for the Tigers to start their path to a successful season. Be sure to be there to support the Tigers at their season opening doubleheader on March 26. Good luck to the team and go Tigers!
