Last Update before Spring Break
By: Brandon Lanning - March 24, 2016
This week's weather is going to be nice and warm. Now it is time for your seven day forecast. Also this will be my last weather update before spring break. Monday through Wednesday no rain, temperatures are going to be in the 50’s, and for the rest of the week the temperatures are going to be in the lower 40’s to upper 50’s. No precipitation is being forecasted for the next five days. There is a chance of rain and rain snow mix on Saturday and Sunday, then after that nothing at all. I will have my next weather update when I come back from spring break on Monday, April 4th.
March Weather
By: Brandon Lanning - March 1, 2016
This will be my first weather for the month of March. We recently had a snow storm come through our area. That snowstorm dropped about 2-3 inches. I am expecting two more snowmakers to come through our area this week. For the one on Thursday I am expecting 2-4 inches of snow. The one on Saturday, I am expecting 1-2 inches of snow. At the end of the week I am expecting a very nice warm up. Highs will soar well into the 70’s.
It is going to be shorts and t-shirt weather. I love it when we have shorts and short sleeve shirt kind of weather. You don’t have to be all bundled up and cold. When the warm temps do arrive it will stay for a very long time. Highs will stay in the 50’s and 60’s. The sad part is though with nice weather, rain comes along. I hope everyone has a good week and enjoys the warm weather.

Late February Weather
By: Brandon Lannjng - February 28, 2016
The weather update this week is going to be short and sweet. This is because the weather this week will be quite mild. Sunny skies for most of the week. The one exception to this is that I am tracking a snow storm for Monday night into Tuesday. I’m not sure on measurements yet. All I know is that there is something headed in our direction for those two days this week. I will know more this weekend about the storm. I hope everyone has a great week and GO TIGERS

Weather Update
By: Brandon Lanning - December 14, 2015
The weather for next week will be summed up in three words:down right freezing. The lows for most of next week will be in the single digits. For example, the low Monday night is going to be 6. Wind chills will be very cold and well below zero. We could have some snow this week depending on where the storms track; right now we are in the clear but that will change daily.
We are well below normal for snow in the month of January. I don't see that changing any time soon unless the storms track our way. Though, it is possible because weather changes all of the time. As of right now the wind chills are expected to be around 5-10 below zero.
Monday the high is going to be 19 with a low around 3 degrees. On Tuesday I am expecting snow with possible accumulations. The high is going to be 17 with a low of 5. On Wednesday the high is going to be 16 with mostly sunny skies. The low is going to be around 13 degrees. Sunday I am expecting some accumulating snow as well. I don’t know how much yet but we will definitely be getting some. I am expecting thick ice to form on the maumee river. I can’t wait until spring because I will actually get to watch the ice go out. I heard that it is really fun to watch. I hope everyone has a good week.

Warm Up
By: Brandon Lanning - December 7, 2015
I am expecting a warm up for the first half of December. Highs will be in the middle to upper 40’s for the next week. That is a heat wave compared to this time last year. This time last year we had snow on the ground, and it was freezing cold outside. The high for Monday and Tuesday will be around 46 degrees. Monday will be partly sunny, and Tuesday will be sunny with clouds at times throughout the whole day.
Wednesday and Thursday will both have highs around 51 degrees. Wednesday will have sun with areas of low clouds during the day. Thursday will have mostly cloudy skies. Friday and Saturday will be cloudy. The high for both days will be in the lower to mid 50’s. The only difference will be on Saturday we will have rain and drizzle throughout the day.
Your Christmas forecast is going to be warm with a high around 50. There will be some freezing rain in the morning, but that will change to all rain. I am not sure yet when that will change to all rain but it will turn into rain and not be ice all day. Other than that I hope that you all have a Merry Christmas!

Mid-November Weather
By: Brandon Lanning - November 12, 2015
My November winter update for the 2015-2016 season. This winter will be kind of on the mild side this year. I am still expecting brutally cold temperatures with heavy snow. Due to the heavy snow, a couple of bad snowstorms this year, along with frigid temps, I am still expecting a record breaking snowfall this year. Two years ago we broke a record with 86.3 inches of snow. This year I am expecting 110.5 inches of snow, which will blow away our old record we have.
It will be kind of on the mild side this year because we will not have wind chills 50 below zero, and we will also not have temperatures 5-10 degrees below zero. I’m expecting temperatures to range from 0 to 25 all winter long. There also could be a few ice storms this winter too because of the temperatures that are going to be near 32 degrees outside. I would rather have it rain than ice, or snow than ice. I would rather have it rain then ice because ice can be dangerous and can cause problems. I would rather have snow than ice because of snow is a lot easier to clear then ice would be.
I am also expecting a strong cold front to come starting at midnight tonight. With this cold front I am expecting 70mph winds. This will cause power outages and power lines and polls to be down. This will also cause trees to be down and other damage as well. So my advice would to bring everything inside so it don blow away. With temperatures this year they will definitely not be as brutal as the past two years. It will still be cold out by all means, but not below zero temperatures, which is good news. The bad news is though that it will still be cold outside, and people might still have to bundle their kids up for the bus stop for school every morning.
Last but not least my first snowfall prediction of the year, since our first snowfall is usually in the month of November. This year is a different story though. This year I am guesstimating our first snowfall to be around Thanksgiving. Most people do not want to see snow for the thanksgiving day holiday. I will have my last winter update the week before Christmas break. I hope that everyone has a good week.

Buckeye Bubba's Winter Outlook
By: Brandon Lanning - September 28, 2015
This year I am expecting a really brutal winter, both cold and snowy. This year for the temperatures I am expecting the temps to be frigid, By frigid I mean the actual temps could be as low this year as -15 below zero. If you guys thought it was cold two years ago when the wind chill was -50 below zero, this year they could be -60- -65 below zero. I don't know about you guys, but man, that sure is too cold for me. I really hope this doesn’t happen, but anything is possible, If it were to happen like I am forecasting it to happen.
Here are some tips to keep warm in these brutally cold temps. If this were to happen you need heaters and flashlights because most likely the power will go out. Also you would need to have all the blankets and food you need because you don't know how long the power will be out. The main thing you need is flash lights because you need them to be able to see.
This year for precipitation I am expecting well above average snow this year. The way that El Nino is setting up is just to the north of us in Michigan, just north of us will not get very much snow this year. From the Ohio line to Florida, will be the the prime spot for heavy snow throughout the whole winter season. It might end up being Kentucky down to Florida as time gets closer, but as of right now, I'm sticking with Northwest Ohio down to Florida as being the prime spot for heavy snow. Please stay tuned for more details. I will have a update every month on what I think winter will be like this year.

The First Cool Down of the Year
By: Brandon Lanning - September 14, 2015
Hi, I am Meteorologist Buckeye Bubba reporting live from North Baltimore High School. This week we are going to start off with your football Friday forecast as we take on the Leipsic Vikings at Leipsic, for the first BVC game of the year. The weather will be nice and cool with a low of 51 degrees. The weather for Saturday will have partial sunny skies with a high of 66, and the weather at night will be partly to mostly clear, with a low around 49.
Sunday’s weather is going to be partly sunny with a high around 67 and a low around 49. It’s only September, and it is already starting to get cold at night. I really don’t think this is a good sign for winter. I have a bad feeling this year that we are going to have a really bad winter with snow, cold, and ice. Monday’s weather will be mostly sunny and clear with a high around 74 and a low around 46 degrees.
Tuesday’s weather is going to be a dreary day with heavy rain throughout the day starting early in the morning. The high will be around 68 degrees, and the low at night will be around 43 degrees. The weather on Wednesday will be mostly to partly sunny with a slim to zero chance of rain during the day. The high will be around 71 degrees, and the low for the night will be around 43 degrees.
The weather for Thursday will be mostly sunny with a high around 72 degrees and a low of 48 degrees. Friday’s weather will have increasing cloud cover, but there will be no chance of rain during the day or at night for the game. The high will be around 72. Here is your football Friday forecast as we host the Arcadia Redmen at home for a BVC game. The weather for the game will be cool and clear with a low around 51 degrees.

When asked about how the weather affects running cross country Danny Crouse, senior, responded “ If it is storming too hard we can’t run. When asked about weather affects playing football Chad Wright, senior, responded “ If there is bad weather we can’t play. If it stops in the middle of our match we can pick up where we left off.” When asked about weather affecting cheerleading Lacey Hall, senior, responded, “if it is raining and or muddy it will ruin our shoes and pompoms. Our pompoms will fall apart.” I want to thank them for their interviews.
Also I hope everyone has a good week and comes out to support all of the sports’ teams this season.
