Christmas Cookies
By: Tyler Schwartz - December 7, 2015
It’s that wonderful time of year again, the weather starting to turn cooler, the sky spitting snow flakes here and there. That time where the children are excited and the bakers busy. Thanksgiving has faded purely to a memory. Pumpkin spice fading out and the smell of Christmas sweets coming alive. It is the beginning of December which means the Christmas countdown is underway. Christmas means a lot of things such as Christmas break, seeing family, and getting presents. One other thing everybody loves that the Christmas season calls it’s own are Christmas cookies. Since Christmas is fast approaching the iWrite team decided to do a fun fact natured article about Christmas cookies.
Did you know that Queen Elizabeth was the first credited with watching the first gingerbread man ever created? The gingerbread is said to be the first cookie to ever be associated with Christmas. If one were to google Christmas cookies they could pick from the astonishing 214,000,000 results at hand. Sugar cookies are said to be the most popular Christmas cookie. These are just a few fun facts.
When asked about Christmas cookies Ms. Ferrell’s face lit up as she said “I love them! I love every Christmas cookie out there. I especially love gingerbread because they remind me of that gingerbread in Shrek who poops out chocolate chips.” So, as Ms, Ferrell makes obvious here, Christmas cookies are very fun and bring out the Christmas spirit in everyone. When asked about these tasty traditions Serriah Johnson quoted “I can’t even tell you my favorite Christmas cookie. I love them all!” So as all student and staff interviewed show, everyone loves Christmas cookies! Have a Merry Christmas and enjoy some cookies.

Time for Christmas Lights?
By: Josh Rockhill - December 7, 2015
It's always nice driving around and looking at the Christmas lights and decorations that people put outside their house, but everyone has a different opinion about when it is too early to put up Christmas lights or decorations. Some people are always in the Christmas mood and can't wait to put up their light and tree, so they end up putting them up before Thanksgiving. There are also the people who say the lights and decorations should not go up till Thanksgiving is over, and then you can put everything up. Then there's those people who are like the Grinch and don't like Christmas and don't put anything up.
When Hanna Rose was interviewed she said no lights should be put up no earlier than after Halloween. Valerie Buchanan thought that lights should not go up anytime before Thanksgiving. Hanna is one who enjoys putting Christmas lights up with her and her mom put lights and decorations on their porch. Valerie said that she is to lazy to put up lights. Then they were asked if she likes to go around and look at the lights other people put up and both said that Yes she does and that her favorite one to see are the lights that look like they are melting. When do you think it is too early for Christmas lights?
